Happy Holidays from the the Moonshine Crew! We wish you and yours the loveliest of times!

In update news, we are excited to announce that this train is really starting to roll! This month we completed the solicits for Moonshine Bigfoot #1, which means the final lettering edits, text and art for the inside covers and back cover, and all the official wording, price setting, line-signing, and all the things needed to start to process of getting a comic book on a store shelf, is now done for Issue #1!

The physical copies of Moonshine Bigfoot Issue #1 will be on shelves April 16th! That means all you lovely backers will be sent the link to download the digital version of Issue #1 a week prior to that, so keep any eye on your inboxes the week of April 9th!

And as always, here's some page samples--Zach, Steve, and Nelson have been hard at work! And, of course, your friendly monthly Progress Chart, too.

September Update!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Sep 17, 2024 at 10:04:31 AM

Welcome back to another Moonshine Bigfoot Monthly Update!

More interesting--and potentially very good!--stuff is continuing to happen regarding outside interest in Moonshine Bigfoot. We can't say much more now, but fortunately this ain't Zach or Steve's first rodeo so they know the ins and outs of navigating outside interests, offers, etc. We will keep you posted and will let you know if anything definitive is decided!

In the meantime, here's your regular update stuff:

Steve is hard at works assembling the Issue #3 bar scene, which will feature the next round of backers who pledged to appear as bar patrons.

And enjoy these art samples! The big news this update is that Nelson has turned in the Issue #3 cover--aka the Bigfootloose cover--in glorious completed color. And check out that double-page spread!

Moonshine Bigfoot's August Update!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Aug 14, 2024 at 02:14:04 PM

Hey all!

Issue #3 of ‘Moonshine Bigfoot’ is coming along beautifully! Scroll on down to see the Issue #3 cover (sans color) aka the ‘Footloose’ cover, plus one inked page, and two colored pages. All new stuff! And as always, the visual Progress Chart.

We also wanted to take a moment this month to update everybody on our production schedule.

For starters, we know it’s taking a long time, and we want you to know that we’re very sorry for the slowdown.

We started this project as a fun little side series that we could put out in short order. However, we quickly realized how much traction it was getting, and we decided to really try and make this a one-of-a-kind story. Steve, Nelson and Zach are trying to do the best work of their careers, and the scripting has been relentlessly polished. We’ve also extended the length of each issue to expand the story.

As a result, Hollywood interest is already assailing us, and we had to write an animated TV series pitch for those requests.  On top of that, we are negotiating foreign language print deals for the book to be available internationally. (More info on those two things once we can say more!) So Moonshine Bigfoot’s future is extremely bright—but all this extra work, paired with a few unexpected wild cards in our personal lives, has also put us behind quite a bit.

Another unfortunate reality is that producing a high level, quality comic book is expensive, and the Kickstarter donations—while wonderful and essential—were never expected to cover the whole production process. To supplement those donations, we had an investor, who’s support would have covered the rest of the expenses, and who, for complex reasons, we had to cut ties with early in the process, leaving us without the funds for Nelson and Zach to work fulltime on Moonshine Bigfoot. So they have each had to take on side work to pay the bills, which frustratingly slows production. However, we recently raised enough money from selling original pages to fund the rest of the series, and for the first time since we began we’re finally working at the intended production speed!

As of now, Steve is crushing issue 3 pencils, and Zach is inking away right behind him. Issue 2 is lettered, proofed, and ready for print.

Also, we have locked in Feb. 2025 as the print date for Issue 1!

Exciting days are ahead for Moonshine, and we can’t thank you enough for your belief in the awesomeness of this IP, and for your continued patience with its tardiness. We promise that it’ll curl your toes off and be well worth the wait!
